TUC ON DAVID AND DORIAN
(Quotes in bold are new.)
"I don't know if David and Dorian are going to pair up romantically, although
I do think that they have genuine feelings for one another. I think
we're going to start seeing -- even though they have that cat-and-mouse game
where we act like we really don't like each other -- there are some genuine
feelings that we might start exploring." (SID 1/20/04)
(on whether or not the executive producer told him he'd be working with
Robin again) "He never said that, I just assumed it. I don't think you
bring David back without putting him with Dorian. Playing David without Dorian
is like playing with matches without kerosene. It's fun to play with matches,
but onice you add the kerosene it becomes a lot more fun." (SOW 9/28/04)
(on his favorite storyline) "Mine from 10 years ago when Dorian and
David opened a safety-deposit box to get the $27.8 million -- I want for
the record that I remember the exact amount of that money. Rather than the
money, we find a list of five questions that the true heir to Victor Lord
would be able to answer. And the weeks that followed of Dorian and David
trying to figure out the right answers to those questions by duping Todd
was a lot of fun." (SID 2/13/05)
(on the scenes from 1995 where Dorian had David tied to a bed) "I
looked preposterous! I was wearing a blindfold and couldn't see what was
happening." (SID 2/13/05)
(on his favorite David/Dorian memory) "For me, I really enjoyed exchanging
Christmas gifts, and we immediately accused each other of re-gifting. But
in a bigger picture, the things that I really like are when Dorian and David
are cohorts. When we work together to destroy someone else, I think it's
some of the most magical moments on daytime." (SID 2/13/05)
"You can't really explain chemistry, as cliched as that is. But I do think
that there's chemistry between Dorian and David and Tuc and Robin." (SID
2/13/05)
"I predict that Dorian and David will both find out how much they truly do
or truly don't love one another. Love comes in degrees, and when obstacles
come up, you find out what you're made of and what your relationship is made
of. I think that will be tested." (SID 2/13/05)
(on filming David/Dorian scenes with Robin Strasser) "I find it very fulfilling because a lot of leeway is given to us to be creative. A question that's asked to us frequently is "Do you guys rewrite the things that you say?" It's not so much that we write. We look at it. I think I look at the script and think, "Can the same line be said with a different intention that takes it in a different way?" (SOD.com October 2005)
(on whether he knew David and Dorian would be paired when he returned)
"I just assumed that I'd be paired up with Dorian. I've always said playing
David without Dorian is like playing with gasoline without matches: It's
fun but it lacks showmanship." (SOD 3/28/06)
(on his dream wedding for David and Dorian) "First of all, it's a
location shoot. I see islands. As long as there was a volcano nearby, that
would be fine. It comes to be in pictures of hedonism. But it would be so
over-the-top and huge that ABC would have to take out a second mortage on
all of the buildings they own to pay for it. The last time [David and Dorian]
got married, it was very small. So in my opinion, we've done small -- onto
the big thing!" (SID 4/26/06)
(on whether he knew when he returned that he'd be paired with Dorian again) "I just assumed that I'd be paired up with Dorian. I've always said playing David without Dorian is like playing with gasoline without matches: It's fun but it lacks showmanship." (SOD 3/28/06)
(on his last scenes at OLTL in 2006) "My last scenes are with Clint. I tell him I'm leaving town, and ask him to watch after my best girl, Dorian." (SOW 11/28/06)
"David has loved Dorian ever since he first laid eyes on her in her prison jumpsuit." (SOW 3/13/07)
(on Dorian betraying David by not giving him a cut of BE) "David and Dorian are not mature people. And if they get upset, they lash out in a very childlike manner. Dorian didn’t give David his financial due in order to keep quiet, so he turned her in." (TVGuide Canada Suds Report 7/11/08)
(on why David married Addie) "The reason is probably what everyone thinks. It's really just to make Dorian mad." (SID 7/28/08)
