A Return For David! (SID 4/7/08)

When David walked out of Llanview last December, it appeared that the funnyman would be gone for a while. But OLTL confirms that Tuc Watkins will be back as Asa's unknowing son in the very near future!

The In Depth Story: Watkins, who last popped up in early November, has been busy with his primetime role on Desperate Housewives as Bob Hunter, one half the nabe's new gay couple.

Watkins first played wisecracking grifter David from 1994-'96, returning for stints since 2001. David is currently unaware that he is Asa's illegitimate son, an honor Jared has falsely claimed as his own. While an air date for Watkins or length of stay wasn't available at press time, an insider reports that the reprise could run for numerous episodes during May Sweeps and that the show might also push for Watkins to come back for a longer period when Housewives stops production for the summer.

"I empathize with you," the actor told In Depth about his constant entrances and exits from OLTL. "It's not easy to consistently come up with, 'Oh, boy, he's coming back again? I've got to come up with another headline. Why doesn't he just stick around or leave forever?'"
