The peacock is the superficial show-off of the bird world, strutting about with an elaborate fantail of spotted iridescence in an effort to entice the ladies. In the same way, Llanview's resident con man, David Vickers, thinks of himself as the be-all, end-all of eligible bachelors. Money is his No. 1 mistress, and he'll sink to any depth to get his hands on it (short of getting a job, of course!). David knows a fine diamond when he sees it, and if it's hanging around the neck of a wealthy heiress, you can bet he'll be wooing her to within an inch of his life in no time. Fortunately, this cad has enough charisma (and comic relief) to back up all that bravado. There's no shortage of sugar mamas who wouldn't mind spreading the wealth with this gold digger.
