We're In the Money: Aunt Betsy's Millions (SID 4/13/04)
(Note: SID did a spread about different soap characters' money schemes. David and Dorian's plan to get Aunt Betsy's millions was the choice for OLTL.)

The Back Story: Dorian's wealthy Aunt Betsy was as eccentric as they come -- she decided only a never-married relative was worthy of inheriting her millions.

The Race: Clearly out of the running herself, Dorian campaigned for grand-niece Starr to be chosen, but Betsy deemed the belligerent preteen undeserving. Then, when Betsy was charmed by family newcomer Paul, desperate Dorian plotted with cohort David to make the younger man look like he'd gotten married and therefore should be disqualified. Failing that, the dynamic duo concocted an even better plan: They convinced young Adriana that she was Dorian's long-lost daughter and presented the girl to Betsy as the preferred choice for an heir. Little did they knew, Adriana was hell-bent on disqualifying herself by becoming River's bride!

The Result: Hearing that David was an excellent lover, curious Betsy offered him $1 million to experience it herself. Unfortunately, his heat was more than the spinster could take; she dropped dead! Will Adriana get the chance to spend her windfall? Or will vindictive Paul expose the scam and prove David killed the old lady?
