Scams Club: "Son of a" Glitch (SOD 2/24/04)

Scam Artists: David Vickers, Dorian Lord

Punk'd: Viki Lord, Tina Rogan

Low-down Lowdown: In 1994, Dorian stood trial for Victor Lord's long-ago murder. She was sentenced to die, but at the last minute, suave newcomer David Vickers arrived in Llanview, claiming to be Victor's long-lost son with the late Irene Clayton (and heir to $30 million). He presented the court with Irene's diary, which said that she killed Victor. Dorian was freed and gave David $50,000 for his trouble. She also agreed to keep secret the truth -- that he wasn't the Lord son, but really a scam artist.

Truth and Consequences: Leave it to love to be David and Dorian's downfall! After meeting his "sister," Tina, David fell for her; they soon slept together, but he assured her that it hadn't been incest by revealing his true identity. The duo then eloped. Dorian plotted revenge on Viki by deflowering her son Joey...but ended up having real feelings for him. Meanwhile, serial rapist Todd Manning's father, Peter, died and left a note revealing that Todd's biological father was Victor. Before the news got out, Dorian warned Viki that David was after the inheritance money; David then insisted that Dorian was the one behind the scam. Fearing jail time, Dorian warned Viki that if she re-opened the murder case, she'd reveal that Viki had been abused by Victor. Viki cracked and trapped Dorian in a secret room; while under her alternate personality, Jean, Viki forced Dorian into leaving Joey, then had David break up with Tina. She made David and Dorian wed. Soon after, Dorian tricked David into divorcing her (minus a settlement), but they've never been able to shake their connection -- or attraction. These days, they're on very friendly terms as they're again scheming for $30 million (this time, the supposed heir is Dorian's nephew, Paul).
